Summer Concert Two solo performances by FRANKIE and M.K. Frøslev in the context of Edita Schubert's Self Portrait Behind a Perforated Canvas. 27 July 2023, 7-9 pm Galerie Molitor, Berlin

FRANKIE (Franziska Aigner) works at the intersection of music, philosophy and performance. She studied at P.A.R.T.S., the school of choreography and dance in Brussels directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, and has performed her own work at theatres and festivals across Europe. FRANKIE worked with the artist Anne Imhof on the performances Deal (2015), Rage (2015), and Angst (2017), Nature Mortes (2021) FAUST (2017), which was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2017 Venice Biennale, as well as Nature Morte (2021). She performed and co-wrote the music to FAUST, which was released on PAN in 2019. In 2019 she also joined the Holly Herndon vocal ensemble. FRANKIE continues to work and perform with Anne Imhof, and with artists such as the choreographer William Forsythe and the filmmaker Austin Jack Lynch. In 2020 she completed her PhD at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), London on the topic of Kant and Technics. She is currently an instructor in philosophy at the New Centre for Research and Practice, and her monograph on Kant and technics is forthcoming with Bloomsbury Publishing. In 2022, her solo-record STYX was released on Shadow World/Bedroom Community, which she is since then performing internationally. M. K. Frøslev is a guitarist, composer and visual artist working with music, sound installation and moving image. He studied fine arts at Malmö Art Academy and Cooper Union, NYC, and is from September on pursuing and MFA in Composition and Experimental Sound Practices at CalArts, CA. He is part of the ensemble TLF Trio with whom he released the album Sweet Harmony (Latency 2022) and lately he composed the score for Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff’s film series Paradise that was presented at Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi in Berlin and O-Town House in Los Angeles, 2022–23. At Galerie Molitor M. K. Frøslev will perform a new series of minimalist compositions for electric guitar and various tracks through a DJ mixer.
