Margaret Honda Through, Across, From Point to Point; Completely Austrian Cultural Forum, New York City 19 — 21 April 2024

Margaret Honda’s ‘Film (Künstlerhaus Bremen) Trims’ (2016) will be exhibited in a group exhibition opening on April 19 as part of the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York open studios. In filmmaking, “trims” are the pieces of material cut from shots during the editing process. Even if trims are initially deemed unnecessary, they are always retained in case they later prove to be needed. This work consists of trims from Film (Künstlerhaus Bremen). For that work, large sheets of lighting gels were cut to fit the window panes in Künstlerhaus Bremen’s exhibition space. The leftover pieces from each reel constitute Film (Künstlerhaus Bremen) Trims. More information here.
